Germoloids

One of the best brands of piles treatment are supplied by Germoloids.  They offer 4 main treatments so you get a good choice of options, which include an ointment, cream, spray, suppositories and soothing wipes to work in conjunction with another product, so they really do cater for all preferences.  There are advantages to each of the products, but it is really down to personal preference.  On this page I will be telling you a bit about the different treatments available, how they work and information on how they should be applied.

The main ingredient within the four main products is Lidocaine.  This is a strong aesthetic which treats external pain and is not found in many other piles treatments.  The advantage of having this ingredient is that it works along side the treatment’s anti swelling ingredient.  This means that not only does Germoloid help treat the piles, but it was also give you pain relief so that you can carry on as usual!

Most people just use one of the products below, in conjunction with the soothing wipes.  However, it isn’t uncommon for a combination of treatments to be used.

Germoloid Ointment
The Germoloid ointment is the most popular product in the range and it offers a thick solution which treats the piles with zinc oxide and it uses Lidocaine to help reduce the pain caused by the piles. It should be applied twice daily, after bowel movements with three to four hours in between.  It should not be applied more than four times in 24 hours and you should speak to your doctor before using it on children.

Germoloid Cream

Some people find the ointment to be too thick which can make it hard to apply for some people.  It contains the same ingredients as the ointment, so your piles will be treated equally as well.  Germoloid cream is a similar consistency to a moisturiser.

Application is the same as the ointment.  It should be applied two times a day, with a gap of around three to four hours, preferably used after a bowel movement.  Germoloid’s pile treatments may not be suitable for children.

Germoloid Spray

Applying the cream or ointment to the anus area isn’t always a pleasant experience so the spray may be the best option.  It contains a steroid called Hydrocortisone which means it is not suitable for everyone.  Without medical advice, do not use this if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  It is also not suitable for children.  You should not use Germoloid HC Spray for more than a week and do not apply it more than three times a day.

The spray still contains Lidocaine which will help anaesthetise the area.

Germoloid Suppositories

Though they might not appeal to everyone, a lot of people use suppositories along side the cream or ointment.  This is because you can then get internal and external relief and treatment for piles.  The suppositories will help reduce swelling and irritation, along with reducing itching.

Germoloid’s suppositories are applied at night and in the morning, with a gap of 3 to 4 hours.  It is best to insert them after a bowel movement, but you should not use more than 4 within a 24 hour period.  Medical advice should be acquired before using Germoloid’s suppositories with children.

Germoloid Soothing Wipes

For extra pain relief Germoloid offer hazel and chamomile soothing wipes.  These are to be used in conjunction with another treatment but they can offer a soothing feeling and improved hygiene after going to the toilet.  They are really discrete and are about the same size as a pocket packet of tissues.  These wipes are flushable too!
